Equality Maricopa works in close collaboration with the Districtwide Diversity Advisory Council and the campus diversity coordinators to ensure that LGBT issues are appropriately and adequately represented.
Equality Maricopa provides a representative for District Administrative hiring committees.
ONGOING ACTIONS
Equality Maricopa is working on creating a collaborative environment with external LGBT groups to actively and supportively address LGBT concerns.
Equality Maricopa is working to educate our community on LGBT issues, people and concerns.
Equality Maricopa is working to add “gender identity/expression” to the MCCCD non-discrimination policy.
Equality Maricopa is working to develop a “Safe Space” Program on every MCCCD campus. Training will begin in September.
Members of Equality Maricopa are facilitators for the Safe Space program.
