Meet our staff!

Matt OrtegaMatt Ortega - Director of Governmental Relations
Matt has been with the Community College District since 2004. He was a Consultant for Strategic Communications at Godec, Randall & Associates and was previously the Assistant Executive Director for Public Affairs at the Arizona Board of Regents where he was the board’s legislative liaison for nearly three years. Prior to joining ABOR, Ortega was the Community/Intergovernmental Relations Officer for the Regional Public Transportation Authority (Valley Metro), and the Intergovernmental Liaison for the City of Gilbert. He was also the Legislative Liaison and Special Assistant to the Director at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. He has his baccalaureate degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.

Page GonzalesPage Gonzales - Associate Director of Governmental Relations
Page started with the Maricopa Community College system in 2004. Her career began in the legislative arena in 1996 when she served the Arizona House of Representatives as an assistant to the Speaker, an assistant committee analyst for the Judiciary, Government Operations, Ways and Means and Commerce committees and as the constituent services coordinator. Page also served as a legislative liaison for both the Government Relations Office of Maricopa County as well as the Arizona Supreme Court. She received her baccalaureate degree from Arizona State University (ASU).  Page is also completing her ASU Master's Degree in Public Administration.

Chad DouwstraChad Douwstra - Government Relations Associate
Chad has been with the Community College District since 2001. Prior to coming to Maricopa Chad was a Trading Analyst for Charles Schwab & Company for four years. Chad also worked on the staff of the Arizona State Senate for the Commerce and Economic Development committee. He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Economics and has also earned his Masters in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Community Colleges.

Donna WarnerDonna Warner - Administrative Assistant
Donna has been with Government Relations since 2001. She has been with the Community College District since 1995. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Communications.
