Banking of Vacation Time

CEC, MAT, PS, Craft, Safety, Skill Center, M&O, and SPF* employees may carryover up to one years accrual of vacation hours. On December 31, each year, banking of vacation hours will occur for those employees eligible. The banking of hours will be done on a calendar year basis. The number of hours that can be banked each December 31, are listed below. Please refer to your employee policy group manual for changes that may have been made prior to this listing.

(1) Craft employees with fifteen years of service or more can bank up to 67 days (536 hours). Employees with less than fifteen years of service can bank up to 60 days (480 hours).

(2) Safety employees with ten years of service or more can bank up to 62 days (496 hours). Employees with less than ten years of service can bank up to 60 days (480 hours).

(3) M&O employees with ten years of service or more can bank up to 62 hours (496 hours). Employees with less than ten years of service can bank up to 60 days (480 hours).

*Specially funded (SPF) employees have the same vacation carryover rules as their counterparts in a regular Governing Board approved policy group.

Purging of excess vacation hours

At the end of each calendar year, CEC, MAT, PS, Crafts, Safety, Skill Center, M&O and SPF employees will have their vacation hours purged if they exceed one year’s accumulation plus the amount that will be banked, if any.
