The Maricopa Community Colleges (MCCCD) is pleased to offer its employees a comprehensive Flexible Benefit Program (Flex) to all Benefit Eligible Employees.

How Flex Works

Flex lets you create the benefits package that’s right for you. Flex allows employees to choose from a variety of benefits. Each employee is allocated flex benefit credits to spend on options that meet the employees’ needs. Each flex benefit has a cost. If the cost exceeds flex benefit credits, you pay the difference through biweekly payroll deductions. If the cost is less than your benefit credits, the unused amount is returned to you as taxable income. Your flex credits are allocated on a monthly basis and determined by the tier of medical coverage purchased.

What is Insurance Fraud?

Insurance fraud is generally defined as the "intentional misrepresentation of material facts and
circumstances to an insurance company to obtain payment that would not otherwise be made." It
is fraudulent to fail to notify the Benefits office of a change in status or to misrepresent
dependents in any manner. Disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including termination,
should this occur.

            Two Dental Plans to choose from

            Basic Life - provided by MCCCD

            Supplemental Life, Dependent Life - voluntary election

            Basic AD&PL - provided by MCCCD

            Supplemental AD&PL for yourself and/or your family - voluntary election

            Short-Term Disability - voluntary election

            Mid-Term Disability - provided by MCCCD

            Long-Term Disability - provided by Arizona State Retirement System & Sedgwick

            Employee Assistance for general counseling provided by MCCCD

            Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts

            Tax Shelter Annuities (403B) - voluntary election

            Arizona State Retirement System - State mandated

            Changing your benefits due to a birth, marriage, full-time student status, etc.

            Injuries that occur during work hours and workers compensation

            Donating your sick and/or your vacation time during Open Enrollment

            Applying for a Compassionate Leave

            Opportunity for current employees to change Health Benefits during the Fiscal Year
