Job Summary


Recruits, develops, and implements internship opportunities with local, national, and international corporations, private agencies, governmental entities, and nonprofit organizations.  Coordinates and maintains the Creative Pathways Project and Creative Pathways internship database.


Scope


This position works in the area of the Office for Community Agenda.  Work contacts include corporation executives, international and foreign speaking executives, administrators, staff, community leaders and community organizations.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment and limited design and production equipment.


Supervision Received


This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters and specific instructions regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.


Supervision Exercised


Supervises assigned staff.


Representative Duties


Develops new internship opportunities; contacts and evaluates relations with corporate and community leaders; provides information and suggested direction to colleges and District regarding internship availability; assists in coupling requests with internship opportunities; suggests resource allocation; develops benchmarking criteria; designs and develops information and distribution systems regarding internships; designs and prepares reports and analyses of internship outcome; performs research and evaluation; provides general support to District personnel involved in internships; develops and maintains data tracking system regarding internships and internship participation; performs related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Abilities


Knowledge of: corporate structure and international business; internship structures and format; higher education systems.


Ability to: understand and work within foreign cultural guidelines; perform related research; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.


Training and Experience


Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in International Business and/or experience in corporate outplacement in a supervisory capacity.

Special Conditions of Employment


State of Arizona Class D Driver's License


Working Conditions


Local travel.  Evening and weekend hours.
