Job Summary
Coordinates
all internal/external communications for assigned campuses and sites as part of
the strategic internal/external marketing and public relations team. Determines effective and efficient
way to communicate within departments/media and keep abreast of campus issues.
Responsible for informing internal/external community and provide media
support.
Scope
This position works in an
assigned area. Work contacts include faculty, administrators, and staff.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an
assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and
standard matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine and sensitive
matters.
Supervision Exercised
Representative Duties
Develops content and writes
press releases for all internal/external communications; writes script for campus
videos; edits and proofs college-wide publications; develops presentations for
administrators; collaborates with faculty and staff needing assistance with
written projects; assists in the development of college publications such as
annual reports and news letters; perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: effective
communication strategies used with a wide variety of audiences; word
processing, database, desktop publishing and presentation software.
Ability to: coordinate all
aspects of internal/external communication to include content and message
development; supervise multiple projects simultaneously; communicate
effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships
with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any
combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required
knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a college degree in communications or
related field and/or experience in internal communications or media relations.
