TITLE: COORDINATOR MARKETING

Job Summary


Develops and coordinates a college marketing program to enhance student enrollment, and /or the image of the college.


Scope


This position works in the area of marketing and/or public relations; work contacts include faculty, staff, students and community organizations.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment and may include various computers, graphic software, printers, scanners, digital and photo cameras and other digital equipment.


Supervision Received


This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non‑routine and highly sensitive matters.


Supervision Exercised


Depending on location/department, may supervise or oversee the work of Graphic Designers, Public Relations Assistant, outside contractors and/or students.


Representative Duties


Develops and coordinates a college marketing plan to set present and future goals; conducts student surveys to determine trends and marketing strategies; identifies needs of the college and the community served; increases college and community involvement; oversees the design and visual concept for print media, web and video production; oversees and/or supervises and trains assigned staff; maintains liaison with internal and external vendors; creates and maintains complex files and systems; researches, evaluates and recommends new graphic design technology and software; recommends visual approaches and solutions; establishes system for tracking student enrollment, decline and retention within guidelines of federal, state and local agencies; analyzes enrollment trends; writes news bulletins; coordinates budget for marketing; orders materials, displays and supplies; performs related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Abilities


Knowledge of: developing and implementing marketing and recruitment programs; current trends and techniques in print and video graphics; database tracking systems; print and media purchasing; a variety of computer software; needs of college and community served.


Ability to: assess marketing needs and utilize college and community resources; create images to establish brand identity; establish appropriate reporting systems; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.


Training and Experience


Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in marketing, public relations, communications, fine arts, graphic design and/or experience in the area of marketing and public relations, preferably in an educational institution.
