Job Summary
Coordinates, develops and presents workshop opportunities
designed to develop or enhance an employee's knowledge, skill or ability.
Develops processes and materials to support the training.
Scope
This position works in an assigned area. Work contacts may include administrators,
faculty, staff, community organizations or vendors. Equipment used includes
standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives
general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions
regarding non-routine and highly sensitive matters.

Representative Duties
Coordinates, develops and conducts formal and informal
facilitation/training workshops or classes; provides consultative direction and
facilitation/training to employees, colleges or learning communities; conducts
needs analysis for employee or organizational development programs; coordinates
the selection of and/or authors/edits applicable facilitation/training aids,
manuals and materials as needed or requested; maintains updated awareness of
developments in the assigned area and communicates with employees/groups as
warranted; prepares reports and analyses of programs coordinated, may serve as
liaison between assigned area and applicable staff, college, work groups and/or
committee; performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: adult learning theory; organizational
development methodologies; facilitation/training techniques and methodologies;
instructional design; interpersonal/human relations theories/concepts; standard
office practices and procedures.
Ability to: research and evaluate trends in employee and
organizational development; translate theoretical/conceptual information into
clear, easily understood terms; write facilitation/training aids, manuals and
materials; learn to use new employee or organizational development strategies
or concepts; facilitate/train employees in the use of a variety of
interpersonal or human relation concepts or skill areas; conduct needs analysis
for employee or organizational development programs; communicate effectively
orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships in the
course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree in organizational
development, adult learning theory, instructional design, and/or experience
working in an employee or organizational development environment.
Special Conditions of Employment
Positions in this class may require a State of Arizona Class
D Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
This position may require local travel, evening and weekend
hours.
