Job Summary
Provides technical and
functional analysis and support to policies, procedures, and systems through
automation, work processes, and supporting technologies in the area of
benefits.
Scope
This position works in the
area of Benefits. Work contacts include
administrators, staff, and outside vendors.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to
Manager Human Resources; receives general direction regarding routine and
standard matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine and sensitive
matters.
Supervision Exercised
This position provides
technical and work direction to assigned staff.
Representative Duties
Develops and
updates procedures, work processes, and supporting technologies in the benefits
area/sub-system; troubleshoot, analyze, resolve and respond to HRIS system
problems which occur; update operational procedures, including forms, as laws
or system processes change; analyze and may the operational data flow of
specific procedures to include the identification of all elements needed;
analyze new or updated regulations to ensure benefit/payroll subsystems have
accurate data flow and calculations for compliance; ensure any new
calculations, processes, or updates are reprogrammed and tested; write
procedures and conduct training for end users on revised procedures and
processes; will prepare/update all system processes; web changes, updated
documents/forms, and logistical planning for annual Open Enrollment; will
participate in New Employee Orientation; performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: principles
and practices pertaining to benefit administration; PeopleSoft
HR/Benefit/Payroll applications; interrelationship between all programs within
assigned area; HR/Benefits laws and regulations.
Ability to: write
procedures and conduct training for end users on revised procedures and
processes; test and analyze new processes in HRIS system; communicate
effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working
relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned
duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training, and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a
college degree and or professional experience in employee benefits with
demonstrated experience in Payroll/HRIS system.
Special Conditions of Employment
Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
