Job Summary
Leads and manages analysis projects that define and document
organizational business processes and opportunities for improvement and develop
strategies for implementing identified solutions. Directs user groups and project staff through workflow analysis
and the development and implementation of technology based and procedural
solutions.
Scope
This position works in an assigned area. Work contacts include administrators,
faculty, staff, students, consultants and vendors. Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives
general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions
regarding non-routine and sensitive matters.

Representative Duties
Collects, analyzes and interprets business processes to
identify scope and impact of business problems; writes project document which
defines strategy, resources needed, timeframes and other pertinent information;
facilitates subject matter expert team meetings used to document process
workflow, roles and opportunities for process improvement; identifies problems
and determines strategic solutions which may be technological, process-based or
staffing related; facilitates implementation of best solution with project
committee; resolves conflicts which arise; plans and implements new technology
applications; maintains current knowledge technology applications trends that
include voice, data, video and software applications; develops informational
literature and user manuals for technology based or other business solutions;
maintains liaison with other department and college work units in addition to
educational institutions, consultants and vendors; may supervise non-department
employees on a project basis; performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: methods, practices and terminology used in
educational computing applications; organization and process analysis;
facilitation practices; curriculum and instructional programs of community
colleges; research design and techniques; use of information technologies
(voice, data and video) in educational, management and statistical
applications; strategic planning; principles and techniques of business process
reengineering; project management.
Ability to: plan, organize and manage projects; coordinate
and direct the activities of others; analyze complex data; assess needs;
analyze the impact of policy revisions resulting from process modifications;
diagnose problems and recommend appropriate solutions; investigate and
recommend budgetary alternatives for identified problem solutions; make
effective oral and written presentations; communicate effectively orally and in
writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in
the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree in business or public
administration, organizational development or related field, and/or experience
in community college management, research, development, management or planning
of programs to meet business needs.
