Job Summary
Manages college budget, including planning, implementation,
forecasting and analysis. Provides
fixed asset management, responsible for college contractual leases, develops
program cost analysis and other related reports.
Scope
This position works in the area of Administrative
Services. Work contacts include
administrators, staff and vendors.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Dean of Administrative
Services/College Business Manager; receives general direction regarding routine
and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non-routine and highly
sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises assigned staff, may supervise temporary and/or
student employees.
Representative Duties
Manages college budget by providing financial information,
analysis, and forecasting to college administration; evaluates and reports on
the effectiveness of various fiscal processes; advises and provides
problem-solving assistance to college staff and administrators regarding fiscal
rules and regulations governing college funds; assists in the development of
the college budget; reports on a regular basis to the college business manager
or dean regarding current budget matters; plans and conducts training and
workshops on budget administration; creates and processes budget transfers,
journal entries, and other on-line accounting functions; may act as a buyer for
limited purchases orders; manages college capital financial balances;
supervises departments as assigned; oversees satellite copying facilities;
prepares and provides administration with spreadsheet reports; monitors college
financial expenses, researches and correct accounting errors; ensures fiscal
integrity of college funds; assists with coordination of college's year-end
closing; hires, trains, and evaluates assigned staff: performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: current practices in college business
administration; budget development and management; principles and techniques of
accounting and fiscal control; on-line computerized accounting systems.
Ability to: manage information processing center and
duplicating services departments; develop, implement and manage college
budgets; plan and conduct training workshops; prepare, analyze and report
financial statistics; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish
cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of
performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training, and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a degree in Business Administration and/or
demonstrated experience in fiscal operations.

Position may require prolonged periods of viewing CRT. Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
