Job Summary
Develops, implements and coordinates the recruitment and
placement of students in the Cooperative Education Program.
Scope
This position works in the area of cooperative
education. Work contacts include
administrators, faculty, staff and students.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives
general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions
regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Depending
on location/department, may supervise the position of Office Coordinator and/or other
assigned staff.
Representative Duties
Coordinates with faculty, students and employers for
integration of cooperative education programs; assists faculty with curriculum
revisions related to cooperative education; maintains liaison with employers to
provide adequate number and appropriate placement for students; counsels
students on job-related issues; assists in the promotions and marketing of
co-operative education opportunities to the community and potential clientele;
develops policies and procedures for the program; prepares and monitors program
budget; evaluates total program; performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: cooperative education; job placement; policy
development; centralized policies and procedures.
Ability
to: promote co‑op education to the community; evaluate program; supervise
assigned staff; conduct presentations; communicate effectively orally and in
writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in
the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be college degree in education or related field
and/or experience in job placement or administration of educational programs.
Special Conditions of Employment
Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
