Job Summary
Plans, develops and provides technical support and
coordination of media productions for the college.
Scope
This position works in the area of media. Work contacts include staff, administrators,
contractors, faculty and vendors.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment and a variety of video
and camera equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives
general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions
regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Depending on location/department, may oversee assigned staff
on a project basis.
Representative Duties
Provides technical assistance in the planning, coordination
and implementation of video production projects; establishes schedules,
determines deadlines, arranges meetings with client, writes script and oversees
production; establishes production objectives, story lines, location, studio
recording, lighting techniques and style, music selection, graphics and
animation; meets with clients to identify scope and depth of project, required
goals and desired objectives; researches, reviews and implements procedures and
techniques and recommends changes to improve efficiency of equipment and meet
user needs; oversees technical personnel on the project; provides quality
assurance; provides support for other special or technical projects; performs
related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge
of: methods, practices, equipment and terminology used in video design and
production; project management.
Ability
to: oversee assigned staff; manage, plan and organize projects; identify,
coordinate and recommend technical solutions for project; communicate
effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationship
with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree in animation, business
administration or related field and/or experience video production and project
coordination.

Conditions of Employment
Working Conditions
Positions in this class may be required to lift up to 50‑lb
objects and crawl through small areas. Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
