TITLE: PROJECT COORDINATOR

GRADE: 15

Job Summary


Plan and direct communication activities and timelines for projects, which may include systems.

 

Scope


This position works in an assigned area.  Work contacts include staff, administrators, faculty, consultants and vendors.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment and a variety of computer software.

 

Supervision Received


This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.

 

Supervision Exercised


Depending on location/department, may supervise assigned staff.

 

Representative Duties


Provides administrative assistance in the planning and implementation of a project; reviews and implements procedures and techniques and recommends changes to improve efficiency to meet user needs; may supervise assigned personnel; provides information and direction to college and District users to determine system utilization and requirements; allocates staff resources; facilitates meetings and audits; develops and manages communication activities; negotiate timelines; attends meetings; performs related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities


Knowledge of: methods, practices and terminology used in communication for project management; software packages.

 

Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationship with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

 

Training and Experience


Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in business administration or related field and/or experience in system implementation with project coordination and communication.

Positions in this class may require prolonged monitor viewing. Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
