TITLE: COORDINATOR INSTRUCTIONAL STAFFING

Job Summary
Plans and maintains course staffing for year-round distance
learning courses, accelerated courses and non-credit workshops.
Scope
This position works in the area of instruction. Work
contacts include staff, faculty, administrators, students, representatives of
business and industry, government agencies and the community. Equipment used includes standard office
equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives
general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions
for non‑routine and highly sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises assigned
staff and temporaries.
Representative Duties
Meets with department chairs to coordinate planning and
staffing of courses; monitors course enrollment to determine staffing
requirements; interviews and recruits adjunct faculty and presents qualified
applicants to faculty chairs for approval; provides assistance to faculty and
staff; maintains contact with adjunct faculty in order to staff courses;
assures training of adjunct faculty; monitors adjunct faculty performance;
maintains staffing data; performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge
of: human resources practices; staffing needs; college practices and
procedures.
Ability
to: screen and interview applicants; coordinate staffing; communicate
effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships
with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree in education, human
resources or related area and/or experience in instructional staffing.
Special Conditions of Employment
Some positions may require a Class D Driver’s License.
