Job Summary
Develops and maintains post production processes and procedures. Supervises assigned staff in facilitating the completion of all MCTV contracted and requested post production projects.

This position reports to the Director MCTV; receives general direction regarding routine matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises assigned staff which may include faculty,
temporary, student, and volunteer staff.
Representative Duties
Responsible for delivering deadline-driven television/video
production, all requested and contracted post production elements; plans,
develops, recommends, and implements post production schedule; determines post
production deadlines and is responsible for the completion of all post
production elements including the completion of all graphical and animated
elements; oversees the integration of post production equipment and platforms
and related industry peripherals; analyzes post production systems needs and
develops post production equipment recommendations; monitors and manages post
production to ensure compliance and coordination with external and internal
standards, regulations and requests; establishes in-house training programs;
operates station equipment; supervises, directs and schedules assigned staff;
assists in planning and budget preparation; performs related duties as
assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: methods, practices, equipment and terminology
used in larger video post production suites; multiple non-linear digital
platforms including Avid platforms and Final Cut Pro editing systems, AfterEffects
software, Boris software, Dreamweaver software 2D and 3D compositing and
ProTools and other similar post production software.
Ability to: manage resources to satisfy requirements for
multiple complex post production projects from inception to completion; design
and install state-of-the art post production equipment and related peripherals;
troubleshoot post production problems both aesthetically and technically; establish
cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of
performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training, and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a
college degree in broadcast communications and/or experience in commercial
television, digital television, demonstrated experience in a television station
or post production facility. Higher education teaching experience preferred.
Special Conditions of Employment
On call 24 hours.
After hours and/or weekend
work may be required. On-call via telephone and/or pager required.
