TITLE: MCTV PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Job Summary

 

Develops, plans, and implements the production of programming and supervises the activities of production and post-production staff at Maricopa Colleges Television (MCTV).

 

Scope

 

This position works in the area of MCTV. Work contacts include administrators, staff, students, and outside agencies. Equipment used includes standard office and broadcast equipment.

 

Supervision Received

 

This position reports to the Director MCTV; receives general direction regarding routine matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine matters.

 

Supervision Exercised

 

Supervises all production and post-production staff. Responsible for supervision of multiple production crews at various sites in both mobile and studio settings. Supervises post-production crews and determines all production and post-production deadlines. Supervision may include full-time, part-time, temporary, student, and volunteer staff.

 

Representative Duties

 

Responsible for delivering on-site television production services district-wide using mobile and on-site television production studio equipment and operations; plans, develops, recommends, and implements production schedule; analyzes production system needs and develops equipment recommendations; monitors production to ensure compliance and coordination with external and internal standards and regulations; establishes in-house training programs; operates station equipment; supervises, directs and schedules assigned staff; assists in planning and budget preparation; performs related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

Knowledge of: methods, practices, equipment and terminology used in video design and production; project management.

 

Ability to: manage complex projects from inception to completion; interpret data to determine projected programming; write and design program information and materials for use in a variety of media; communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

 

Training and Experience

 

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree with experience in public broadcasting in a supervisory capacity.

After hours and/or weekend work may be required. On-call via telephone and/or pager required.
