Job Summary
Develops and administers activities which support
fundraising programs; administers all financial operations of the Foundation
including receipt of gifts, budgeting, accounting, expenditure of gift audit
and official reports.
Scope
This position works in the area of development. Work contacts include Foundation Board
members, donors, prospective donors, corporate and private foundation
executives, volunteers representing leadership levels in the community,
faculty, staff and administrators.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Executive Director Development;
receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific
instructions regarding highly sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises the
positions of Administrative Secretary, Systems Software Administrator and/or
other assigned staff..
Representative Duties
Develops and administers all activities to support
fundraising programs for annual, corporate and foundation, major gifts and
planned giving; administers all financial operations of the Maricopa Community
College Foundation including receipt of gifts, budgeting, accounting,
expenditure of gift audit and preparation of official reports for Foundation
Board of Directors; directs fundraising for non-corporate associations and
organizations, Foundation scholarship program that awards scholarship annually
to students in the colleges and centers; supervises staffing for Foundation
Finance and Gift Allocations committees that oversee financial operations and
investment of assets and distribution of monies annually to colleges and
centers; develops and supervises Foundation volunteer development and
management program; maintains liaison with Foundation Board Members regarding
sensitive and confidential matters related to fundraising calls and gifts;
develops and directs individualized Donor Stewardship Program to acknowledge,
recognize and provide accountability for expenditure of gifts to high level
donors that includes preparation and delivery of confidential reports;
recommends policy to the director regarding all operations; performs related
duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: principles of fundraising, volunteer
development and management; financial operation and accounting for nonprofit
organizations; gift management and donor relations; financial aid and
scholarship award policies and procedures.
Ability to: communicate with a diversity of persons in
corporations, private foundations, associations and organizations; maintain
high degree of discretion and confidentiality in activities with volunteers and
board members; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish
cooperative working relationships with persons contacted during the course of
performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree and/or responsible
experience in fundraising, volunteer development, gift management and financial
aid or scholarship award.
