Job Summary
Designs, implements and evaluates the districtwide annual
fund program for the Maricopa Community Colleges and Centers that will acquire
new individual donors to the colleges and upgrade existing donors.
Scope
This position works in the area of annual giving. Work contacts include Foundation Board
members, fundraising consultants, College Presidents, industry and community leaders,
administrators and external volunteers.
Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Executive Director Development;
receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters and specific
instructions regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises the positions of Data Entry Technician, and may
supervise other assigned staff.
Representative Duties
Designs strategy and processes for a comprehensive districtwide
annual fund program (gifts solicited annually from community, employee, and
alumni groups, and other parties interested in making a charitable donation to
any of the Maricopa Community Colleges and Centers); develops, recommends and
monitors annual department budget; authorizes all non-capital expenditures;
supervises the conduct of the program using external volunteers, Foundation
Board members and/or a variety of mass solicitation techniques to include
staffing, budgeting and coordination of consultants; develops and administers a
direct mail and telemarketing program that solicits annual gifts which includes
developing and testing new prospect bases; designs and produces all print
material used in solicitation activities; collaborates with college annual fund
officers to ensure compliance with District and professional fundraising
standards and practices; works with Maricopa Community College Foundation
volunteers to identify and solicit specific donations from individual donor
prospects; creates, implements and maintains all donor giving clubs; performs
related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and
Abilities
Knowledge
of: fundraising principles in general and of annual fund, direct mail and
telemarketing solicitations; computer operations and applications related to
annual giving program strategies; printed material production; program
planning; budgeting, fiscal control and personnel management; volunteer
management.
Ability
to: handle multiple complex projects simultaneously; supervise and train staff;
communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working
relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned
duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that provides
the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be college degree in marketing and/or
experience in fundraising or institutional advancement.

This position requires the individual to work flexible hours.
