Job Summary
Provides leadership and direction to ensure goals,
objectives, and activities of the East Valley Tech Prep Consortium (EVTPC) are
accomplished in accordance with funding and state specifications.
Scope
This position works in an assigned area. Work contacts
include administrators, CEO's, faculty, staff, students, parents, schools,
business and industries, government agencies, community-bases organizations and
the public. Equipment used includes standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the EVTPC Management Board.
Receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters and specific
instructions regarding non-routine and sensitive matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises staff, consultants and Liaison Team members and
provides leadership to ad-hoc committees and teams.
Representative Duties
Administers Tech Prep grant objectives and activities for
EVTPC which include: high schools, comprehensive vocational high school and
community colleges; directs and monitors staff, recruits and supervises
consultants, and works with the EVTPC Management Board and Executive Team;
coordinates the site-based Liaison Team; manages the budget and disbursement of
funds; prepares financial reports, budgets, assessment and evaluation reports
for submittal to the EVTPC Management Board, as well as to state agencies and
others as required by the grant; ensures professional development workshops,
presentations, meetings, retreats and conferences are developed and
implemented; evaluates programs effectiveness; develops and implements improved
methods for achieving grant objectives; develops policies and procedures to
implement EVTPC Charter and directions from EVTPC Management Board; refines and
delivers articulation process for vocational/occupational programs; confers
with federal and state agencies regarding program goals and policy
interpretations; writes grants for funds and prepares proposals for
continuation of funding; prepares quarterly/final reports for grants; oversees
web development; performs related duties as assigned.

practices; grant management, policies and RFP procedures; budgetary principals;
collaboration and consensus building; strategic planning; teaching principles,
practices and procedures; curriculum development and implementation;
contemporary theories related to integration of academic and
occupational/technical education; work-based learning and partnership
development; equity activities; marketing and public relations concepts; public
policy issues; educational reform and legislative mandates.
Ability to: manage and coordinate programs; develop and
implement new programs and grants; facilitate meetings and group projects;
write grants; meet deadlines; communicate effectively orally and in writing;
establish cooperative working relationships in the course of performing
assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training, and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree in Business, Public
Administration, Education, or related field and/or demonstrated experience in
program administration.
Special Conditions of Employment
This position requires a State of Arizona Class D driver's
license.
Working Conditions
This position is required to work extended hours.
