Job Summary

 

Coordinates with the occupational administrators linkage with secondary and postsecondary educational institutions emphasizing articulation.  Coordinates with public and private agencies in securing and reporting external funds, assessments, and compliance. 

 

Scope

 

This position works in an assigned the area.  Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, business and industry, Federal and State agencies.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment. 

 

Supervision Received

 

This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives broad instruction as to the goals and objectives in the area of responsibility.

Representative Duties

 

Provides continuing development and maintenance of articulated programs with secondary schools and proprietary institutions; designs approaches to market articulation opportunities to high school students and advisors; coordinates with computer services and admissions offices to develop ways to integrate articulation credits into record‑keeping processes; coordinates vocational grant applications with Arizona Department of Education, State Community College Board and others; coordinates compliance audits, equipment inventories, safety compliance and occupational program assessments; maintains liaison with District Business Services; oversees management of program expenditures; pursues areas of external funding for occupational programs; performs related duties as assigned. 

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

Knowledge of: high school and community college mission, role, and practices; federal, state and local funding guidelines, policies and practices; computerized college record keeping systems.

 

Ability to: achieve articulation and cooperative agreements; coordinate among and between secondary and community college administrators; understand and work with computerized data based student record systems; write grants for external funding given a set of guidelines; interface external grant budgets and compliance requirements with business services and the other colleges; communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

 

Training and Experience

 

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in Education and/or prior experience in high school to community college articulation, including task analyses and competency evaluations; prior experience and success in writing and negotiating grants from external funding sources. 

 

Special Conditions of Employment

 

Positions in this class may require frequent travel and State of Arizona Class D Driver's license.
