Job Summary

 

Develops, plans, implements, administers and evaluates community partnership programs that may include dual enrollment, distance learning, service‑learning, pre K‑12 consortia occupational programs, customized contract training, and other projects involving community coalitions and agencies.

 

Scope

 

This position works in an assigned area.  Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, teachers and other representatives of educational institutions, parents, volunteers, representatives from business and industry, government agencies and nonprofit agencies.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment.

 

Supervision Received

 

This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.

 

Supervision Exercised

 

Depending on location/department, may supervise the positions of Coordinator Instructional Services, Coordinator Special Education Services, Administrative Secretary, and/or other assigned staff.

 

Representative Duties

 

Develops, plans, markets, organizes, administers and evaluates community partnership and occupational programs; serves to develop and maintain linkages and resource partnerships with various external agencies, business community, professional associations, K‑12 schools, community consortia; develops and maintains dual enrollment and career pathway programs; coordinates college faculty, high school instructors and business/industry personnel; facilitates service‑learning activities by faculty with community partners; administers the delivery and evaluation of customized contract training, facilitates curriculum development; prepares and monitors budget(s); oversee management of program expenditures; identifies and prepares applications for alternative funding sources such as grants and evaluation and reporting on programs; coordinates and participates on college and community advisory boards; coordinates and evaluates occupational program assessments; performs related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

Knowledge of: high school and community college missions, programs and practices; community and school partnership models; service‑learning models and methodologies; school and community issues and dynamics; curriculum development and instructional design.

 

Ability to: identify and evaluate future needs/trends and develop responsive program; coordinate activities of faculty, staff and external constituents; develop, promote and implement non‑traditional programs; establish and oversee cooperative agreements; represent programs to a variety of audiences; plan, manage and organize multiple projects; identify and analyze problems/issues and recommend strategies and solutions; prepare and administer budgets; direct and evaluate the work of others; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

 

Training and Experience

 

Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in education or a related field and/or experience in community and business related partnership programs such as high school to community college transition involving administrative or instructional development.

 

Special Conditions of Employment

 

This position may require local and regional travel.
