DIRECTOR CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS

Job Summary
Assists Director Resource Development by directing, planning
and implementing complex long- term relationships with local, national, and
international corporations and foundations to develop financial support. Directs information management and prospect
research for fundraising.
Scope
This position works in an assigned area. Work contacts include faculty,
administrators, and staff, local and national corporate and foundation giving
officers, community leaders, fundraising volunteers, business/industry
contacts. Equipment used includes
standard office equipment.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Director Resource Development
or College President; receives general direction regarding routine and standard
matters; specific instructions regarding non‑routine and highly sensitive
matters.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises the Coordinator Prospect Research and Computer
Operations and Development Technician, or other assigned staff.
Representative Duties
Develops and implements corporate and foundation relations
programs to generate financial support for the District/College from local and
national corporations and foundations; maintains liaison with corporate and
foundation donors to continue/increase giving; identifies new corporate and
foundation prospects; analyze, develop and implement financial strategies for
solicitation of new prospects; develops and plans proposals and procedures to
support program; assists fundraising volunteers in conducting solicitations of
prospects and existing donors; develops new programs for corporate and
foundation philanthropic involvement; staffs foundation committees as assigned
by director; directs cultivation activities for new prospect involvement;
administer complex partnerships; instruct special populations on fundraising
principles; directs all prospect research and computer operations that support functions and activities;
directs prospect research and information activities; determines and identifies
computer hardware and software needs for department; maintains liaison with college/district
ITS and department staff to implement new and existing computer applications;
implements new and existing computer configurations; directs the design of
computer applications training programs for the department; integrates
information management needs of department with new and existing technology;
performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and
Abilities
Knowledge
of: principles of institutional advancement and corporate and foundation
philanthropy; techniques of corporate and foundation donor cultivation and
solicitation; community leadership dynamics; proposal writing; volunteer
development and management.
Ability
to: manage programs and develop solicitation strategies; write effective
proposals; maintain high degree of confidentiality; organize and develop
volunteer participation in fundraising programs; use computerized fundraising
records management system; communicate effectively orally and in writing;
establish cooperative working relationships with person contacted in the course
performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training and experience that
provides the required knowledge and abilities.
An example of this would be a college degree with experience in
corporate and foundation fundraising programs or community relations, in higher
education or non‑profit organization.

This position requires frequent flexible hours.
