Job Summary

 

Plans, develops, directs and administers the college’s marketing activities through an integrated approach of sales, marketing and recruitment including internal and external communication, media relations, media buying, advertising, production, graphic design, educational partnerships and partnership expansion.

 

Scope

 

This position works in the area of marketing.  Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, the public, corporate and government agencies, vendors and the media.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment.

 

Supervision Received

 

This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non-routine and highly sensitive matters.

 

Supervision Exercised

 

Depending on location/department, may supervise the positions of Coordinator Corporate & Government Programs, Administrative Assistant and/or other assigned staff.

 

Representative Duties

 

Plans, develops, directs and administers the College marketing activities; provides direction for the strategic marketing plan development and marketing strategies; oversees internal and external communication, media relations, media buying, advertising, production and graphic design; approves all design and copy of collateral materials; provides direction for new or expanding education partnerships; conducts training in order to increase enrollment and meet revenue goals; provides direction on recruiting, partnership expansion, increasing certificate/degree enrollments, customized campaigns, email marketing and outbound callbacks; oversees student data collection and tracking; monitors and approves all budget expenditures; serves on appropriate college, districtwide and community committees; performs related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

Knowledge of: current practices in marketing, media buying, advertising, graphic design, sales and public relations; administration; staff development; program development; budget preparation and project management.

 

Ability to: develop a strategic marketing plan; coordinate activities with a variety of college staff and departments; prepare and administer budgets; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

 

 

 

 

Training and Experience

 

Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree in business, marketing, journalism or related field and experience in sales/marketing and workforce development and partnerships.
