TITLE: DIRECTOR ADJUNCT FACULTY SERVICES

Job Summary


Plan, direct and administer the overall human resources function for all adjunct faculty, including recruitment, staffing and training.


Scope


This position works in an assigned area.  Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, students and businesses.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment.


Supervision Received


This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters and specific instructions regarding non‑routine and sensitive matters.


Supervision Exercised


Supervise the positions of Coordinator Instructional Program, Coordinator Instructional Services, Office Coordinator, Administrative Assistant and/or other assigned staff.


Representative Duties


Plans, directs and administers the recruitment, staffing and training of adjunct faculty; develops, coordinates and monitors local, national and international recruitment; supervises assigned staff; provides leadership, training and direction to Faculty Services Department; consults with administrators and business clients to determine staffing needs; develops staffing plans to meet current and future needs; reviews and monitors faculty evaluations; communicates policies and procedures to adjunct faculty; develops procedures for department; performs related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Abilities


Knowledge of: recruitment, employment, affirmative action principles; state and federal laws (INS, FMLA, ADA); laws and regulations related to employment and employee relations practices; principles and practices of recruitment, screening, interviewing and placement; educational institutions.


Ability to: effectively recruit; determine staffing needs; communicate department policies, procedures and activities of assigned area; interpret policies, procedures, government regulations and analyze data; supervise staff; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.


Training and Experience


Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  An example of this would be a college degree human resources and/or professional experience in recruitment. Experience in educational setting required.
