Job Summary

Performs data entry and verification from a variety of sources. Organizes workflow to meet deadlines.

Scope

This position works in an assigned area. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Equipment used includes data entry machine, tape converter, personal computers and on-line terminal, cash register and calculator.

Supervision Received

This position reports to an assigned administrator; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters.

Supervision Exercised

None.

Representative Duties

Performs key input and verification of input; ensures input to be correct and deadlines met; stamps batches and runs tapes; contacts users on input discrepancies; recalculates batch totals; performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of: methods, practices, and terminology used in general business data processing; on line registration.

Ability to: input and verify data; perform basic mathematical computations; communicate effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

Training and Experience

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be demonstrated experience in general data entry/data conversion and/or on line registration and cashier functions.

Special Conditions of Employment

Positions in this class may be required to work extended hours. Security clearance may be required.

Working Conditions

This position may require, while sitting, an unremitting need to perform work with hand, and/or arms, in largely the same position. Some positions may require a Class D Driver's License.
