Identification of IC Chair
ICs determine the chair for the council. The council may choose such methods as:
- IC election
- IC chair responsibility is rotated annually in alphabetical order by college name
IC Chair Responsibilities Include:
- IC Chair receives evaluations of a curriculum proposal from
other Council members and submits to the initiating college
the written recommendation of the Council based upon these evaluations.
- Submits recommendation within ten (10) instructional days from date of the Curriculum Transmittal Memorandum prior to the next meeting of the initiating college district curriculum committee. No recommendation from the Instructional Council Chair by the due date on the Transmittal Memorandum is documented as such and the curriculum process continues. General Studies proposals are the exception, as a lack of response from the Instructional Council Chair stops the proposal from moving forward.
NOTE: The Health Care Integrated Educational System (HCIES) Coordinating
Instructional Council has two co-Chairs. Only one of the co-Chairs needs
to submit the written recommendation of the Council to the initiating
college.
