1. Complete the online CITI Program Training for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research. (Be sure to enroll under "Maricopa Community Colleges" at: http://www.citiprogram.org/. There is no charge to Maricopa Employees and Students.)
2. Complete the Application to Conduct Human Subjects Research.
3. If you wish to conduct research at one of the colleges, be sure to get the approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) at that college.
*If you plan to do research at District Office (DO), get approval from the appropriate Vice Chancellor (VC). (E.g., If you plan to survey DO employees, get approval from the VC of Human Resources.)
Provide the appropriate signatures on the hardcopy.
4. Submit the completed application by "mail" and email to:
5. The Research Review Committee (at District Office) will contact you if additional information is needed or the application is not complete. (Be sure your contact information is clearly specified on the application.)
6. The Committee will inform you of the decision. (In some cases, an application may be forwarded to the MCCCD IRB for full review.)
7. Be sure to allow ample lead time in submitting your application.
