Audio Video Services

Miner with a laptopThis year, Audio Video Services, previously a part of Learning Services, became part of the District Network Support Services team. Facilitation of the IP/TV "Video to the Desktop" system was a major factor in the decision for this move. While the basic services of audio visual equipment distribution, satellite downlink and broadband video distribution remain basically unchanged, video production and related activities in direct support of the IP/TV system are taking the inside lane as we approach the green flag of the New Era. The first phase of an extensive R&D project, just completed, has identified and initiated purchase of new equipment that will expand and improve the live telecast and videotaping of Governing Board meetings and other district activities, as well as provide a real-time, non-linear, digital video editing system, primarily for use in the production of in-house training materials for distribution via IP/TV.

More detailed information about Audio Video Services at Maricopa during the 1999-2000 fiscal year is available. Audio Video Services has a website as well. Monthly status reports about Audio Video Services are available on the ITS Status Report System.
