A Definition
Messages sent via email as “Maricopa Business”
should serve the purpose of notifying all employees
of matters that are essential to conducting the
administrative, academic ,and functional operations
of the Maricopa County Community College District.
Electronic messages, links, and attachments that
are appropriate to send through this distribution
list include system-wide instructional and curricular
issues, human resources matters (i.e., employment, compensation and benefits), employee training opportunities, safety alerts, legal or statutory com-
pliance notices, internal policies ,and regulations,
notices regarding functional operations (i.e.,
system outages, virus alerts) and executive communications
to the employee community.
Messages that are otherwise related to scholarly
communication or general announcements for col-
lege and district sponsored events and activities
including notices regarding celebrations, should
be sent through the Announcements distribution
list. Messages of a personal nature (e.g., selling
of tickets) should not be sent through either dis-
tribution.
In all instances, messages should adhere to the
guidelines established in the Electronic Com-
munications and Technology Resource Standards
administrative regulations.
