Who Needs To Participate In This Training?
- All full-time and part-time board approved employees including OSO, OYO, Specially Funded, and Skill Center employees are required to participate in the training by February 27, 2009 and every three years thereafter.
I can't remember which training or disclosures I have completed and when, is there one place I can go to verify what I have completed?
How Long Does it Take?
- Training records can be accessed via HRMS. Once logged in with your Enterprise ID and your email password, click Employee Self Service link. Then, click the Training & Development link and finally click the Training Summary link. Training records are updated from Blackboard/SharePoint within 48 hours of completion.
The time required to complete the two online courses is highly dependent on the user's knowledge and comfort level associated with online learning methodologies and tools. During the test pilot phase, test users classified themselves as "Beginner, Average or Expert" and their feedback on the time requirements included:
- Course Number 000904, Legal Issues: Public Sector Employment - Minimum time requirement of 2 hours, maximum time of 4 hours.
- Course Number 000930, MCCCD Public Stewardship - Minimum time requirement of 45 minutes, maximum time of 2.5 hours
What About Credit for Past Training?
- Employees who completed the Legal Issues: Public Sector Employment course during the test pilot phase in July/August, 2007, do not have to retake it until the three-year refresher requirement is due (July/August 2010). If you are unsure of your participation in the pilot, please access your training summary and look for a completion record for course number 000904 at https://hrapps3.dist.maricopa.edu/employeeAccess
- CEC, directors, managers and leaders of employee policy and constituency groups were invited during the Summer/Fall of 2007 to attend either a four or eight hour instuctor-led workshop. These workshops, entitled Public Stewardship & Institutional Ethics, were sponsored by Business Service's Vice Chancellor, Debra Thompon and conducted by Mr. Tim Delaney from The Center for Leadership, Ethics & Public Service. Completion of this instuctor-led workshop meets the initial MCCCD Public Stewardship course requirement only, employees will also be required to complete the Legal Issues: Public Sector Employment online course. If you are unsure of your completion status for the stewardship course requirement, please access your training summary and look for a completion record for course number 000930 at https://hrapps3.dist.maricopa.edu/employeeAccess.
- And finally, employees may have taken workshops with like or similar names through EOLT as part of the supervisory training, e.g., Stewardship of Public Resources, Legal Issues: Public Sector Employment, etc. However, the course content of these workshops is different than the content of the newly developed required courses, and therefore credit for like or similar workshop names will not be granted.
