Why have a facilitator community?
A facilitator community is an essential component of the growth and success of the MOSAIC program.
- A facilitator community is essential to reach enough people to truly generate positive growth in the Maricopa culture.
- Maricopa has over 4,000 board approved employees plus more than that number again of temporary, adjunct and specially funded employees - all of whom are critical to the image and impact Maricopa has in the community.
- In its first year, with one facilitator, over 200 individuals commenced the six-part curriculum series, with some 500 individual contacts. While this is a valiant first year effort, it only represents 5% of board approved employees and less than 3% of all employees.
- A facilitator community is essential to ensure diverse perspectives in program content and implementation.
- Facilitators will be invited to provide input and recommendations to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and respectful of all employees and students.
- Facilitators will be invited to be partners in effective implementation strategies to broaden the scope of understanding of the program.
- A facilitator community is essential to demonstrate Maricopa's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Facilitators from different colleges, policy groups and social identities enable MOSAIC to reach all aspects of the organization.
- A diverse facilitator community also is a model of shared, respectful and effective leadership within the organization.
