Welcome to the Bloodborne Pathogens (Affected Personnel) Online Training!

• What is this course about?

Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms carried by human blood (and other body fluids) and cannot be seen with the naked eye. They can be spread through contact with infected blood. If they get into the bloodstream, an individual may become infected and sick. This on-line interactive course covers the content of an Exposure Control Program, provides an Understanding of Bloodborne Pathogens and Modes of Transmission, describes Method to Control Bloodborne Pathogens in the workplace, reviews recommended Exposure Procedures and introduces the components of the OSHA Regulation.

This course concludes with a Feedback Exercise that will test the participant's knowledge of the course content. A passing scores an 80% or better must be achieved to receive a certificate of completion.

• What if I have questions during the training?

Participants are suggested to take this course during normal work hours (8-5pm, Monday thru Friday) so that questions on the content can be answered. For questions or technical difficulties please contact Michael Bryant (480)731-8311, during normal business hours (8-5pm, Monday thru Friday).

• How do I obtain or decline the HB vaccine?

Maricopa County Community College District is required by OSHA to make the Hepatitis B vaccine available to employees affected by the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard. This vaccine is made available at no cost to employees and must be administered during working hours. You may decline the Hepatitis B vaccination by completing the Declination Form below then forwarding it to your College’s OSHA Compliance Representative.

Hepatitis B Vaccinations

Hepatitis B vaccinations are available through any Banner Occupational Health Services location on a walk-in basis.   A complete list can be found here:  http://www.bannerhealth.com/Locations/Arizona/Banner+Occupational+Health/Locations/Locations.htm. 

The vaccination is a series of three shots and costs $60 per shot ($180 for the series).  You may use another provider, but your college is not required to reimburse more than the price listed here. Our Banner account is under Maricopa County Community Colleges District, not the name of your college. 

If you have a number of employees requiring vaccination at your location, you may schedule a registered nurse to visit your site.  The cost for this is $50 per hour plus the cost of the shots.  For scheduling information, please contact Banner’s Mobile On-site Manager at 602-747-8069.

• Who is your College/Site contact?

Additional information on obtaining or declining access to the Hepatitis B vaccine and local exposure control procedures must be obtained through your college OSHA Compliance Team Representative.

Sign in to the Training Web and establish a Login and Password
Go to "Tools" at the top of your browser
Click on "Popup Manager"
Click on "Allow Popups from this Site"
"Hosted.traingweb.com" should be highlighted at the top of the window, click on "Add"
Click on "OK"

Self Registration

The first time you access the Course Login Page you will need to setup your username and password and provide some general information such as your name and location. The steps below will guide you through setup.

1. Click on the Self Register button
2. Select your Location
3. Enter you First and Last Name
4. In the Login field please enter your eight digit MCCCD Employee ID number. This number can be located on your pay-stub.
5. Complete the remaining fields (Password, Hint and Hint Answer) with data of your choice.
