Arizona Student Loan Code of Conduct
The Code applies to all employees, agents, student financial aid contractors, directors, officers, or trustees of the Maricopa County Community College District. It generally governs transactions between Maricopa (or any of its member institutions) and lenders. Under the Code, a lender is any entity involved in making, holding, consolidating, originating, servicing or guaranteeing any loan to students or parents to finance higher education expenses.
As the next question illustrates, the Code is not just for persons who work in financial aid at any of the Maricopa Community Colleges.
Consider
this hypothetical situation.
Alan is General Counsel for Acme Community College. He is also a member of a lender's advisory board, and receives $100 for each meeting of the board that he attends. He has no concern about this since he does not work in the College's financial aid department.
Under the Maricopa Student Loan Code of Conduct, would Alan be subject to the Code?
