Past Workshops

The Maricopa Project authors began giving workshops in the summer of 1998. The first workshops were introductory workshops, providing participants with an overview of the Project and its goals. In the summer of 1999, an implementation workshop was introduced. This workshop was designed to help instructors prepare to teach the modules.

May 28, 29, 30, 1998

Introduction

I loved doing the activities ourselves, having hands-on.

The materials were excellent. They made the biggest impact.

June 18, 19, 20, 1998

Introduction

The radical departure in curriculum of these materials from the current curriculum made the biggest impact on me.

I see the modules as ways to revitalize my lectures. Wonderful topics.

The food was great and the different routes to and from the workshop entertained.

May 27, 28, 29, 1999

Introduction

These activities are hands-on for students, not like what we are doing now.

The interaction among instructors about pedagogy was a big impact.

June 10, 11, 12, 1999

Introduction

I like how interactive the modules are and that everything relates to a real world application.

The logical development of ideas from one lesson to the next was great.
