MCBAA Committees
We will strive to accomplish our goals
and objectives by planning and orchestrating the following:
Membership Committee
- Develop and implement structures
and strategies for recruitment and retention of MCBAA members. This
committee is comprised of campus representatives.
- Campus Representatives - Assist
with outreach, contact and communication of MCBAA matters at their respective
locations. Activities may include generating membership, responding
to inquiries and providing information to MCBAA and assisting other
MCBAA committees in the dissemination of information.
Marketing and Public Relations Committee
- Plans and implements marketing programs
to parallel the goals and objectives of MCBAA.
- Participates with appropriate committees
and acts as liaison to assist with special events to promote MCBAA.
- Assist in the development and ongoing
maintenance of the information content displayed on the MCBAA website.
Events Committee
- Fund-Raising for MCBAA Scholarships
- Black Tie Ball
- Bus Turn-around Trip
- Annual Student Convocation
- Annual Employee Picnic
Education/Articulation Committee
- Develop relationships with historically
black colleges and universities to increase local awareness of national
programs and policies that are being implemented which affect minority
students.
- Collaborate with the Black Student
Unions at the colleges to help assist in developing and implementing
programs to support the success of African-American students.
Information to HBCU Access and Articulation Agreements
Scholarship Committee
- Financial Aid Awareness Workshops
- Increase Maricopas resource
pools
- Expose African or African-American
students to resources to acquire
- University scholarships
- Exposure students to programs/funding
sources and participation opportunities to enhance professional development
Convocation Committee
- Plan and orchestrate an elaborate
program that identifies and recognizes MCCCD African-American scholarship
recipients and student graduates. This committee collaborates with the
Scholarship Committee.
MCBAA Connection Committee
- Participation/alliance with external
community organizations and associations.
- Participation/support of African
American political events.
- Participation/support with internal
employment and constituency groups.
Leadership Academy Committee
- Assist in the designing, developing
and implementing an employment leadership program for current and prospective
MCCCD African-American employees.
Human Resource Committee
- Promote the recruitment, hiring,
retention, advancement and professional development of Black leadership
in MCCCD.
- Conduit for employment opportunities.
Resolution Committee
- Opportunity to voice grievances
and to obtain resources toward resolutions.
