Project
and college leadership continue to identify and resolve operational
problems
and challenges with the system. Given the complexity of MCCCD and the
vast size
of the database, we really have had remarkably smooth sailing during
this
second week of live operations. Continued kudos should be extended to
college
and project leadership for exemplary problem solving and
organizational flexibility.
Here is a quick update.
o
As
reported in the last update, there have been some challenges with
students with
Maricopa Enterprise IDs (MEIDs) who were previous Blackboard users. To
address
this, all active Blackboard user IDs have been pushed through the
identity
process with security records for SIS access created. This should
resolve the
SIS access issue for these users.
o
This
weekend, the latest PeopleSoft bundle will be applied to the database.
Periodically PeopleSoft provides software bundles that include program
fixes,
system upgrades, and software modifications. The bundle will be applied
and
tested before moved into the production environment. There may be some
cosmetic differences and all changes will be communicated in future
updates.
o
45th
Day reports were successfully run this week—a critical milestone for
the
project.
o
Over
the past several days, focus has been placed on resolving system issues
with
the enrollment cancellation process.
o
FYI—some
interactivity remains with the legacy system in the area of financial
aid.
Legacy is not running parallel with SIS and the “old” data was frozen
on
February 12, 2008.
