Faculty Staffing Committee
Evaluation Criteria
The committee will use the following criteria to evaluate all department/division faculty requests. The faculty staffing request forms reflect these criteria.
Departmental/Division
Issues
Increases/decreases in full-time to part-time faculty ratios covering sections in the requested area of the faculty request; expanding/developing programs; single or no full-time faculty in the area; difficulty in hiring part-time faculty, repeating OYO positions; FIPP position; announced retirements, transfers, resignations or other developments within the department/division; and any other articulation of needs.
Support of Strategic
Departmental/Division Plan
Development and/or expansion of programs/curricula/courses; comprehensiveness of college offerings; and cost of supporting this faculty.
Special Issues
Recent hires; new compelling evidence for changes to last year’s faculty staffing requests; capital impact; program accreditation issues; and history of hiring in the requested area.
