3.17. Faculty

3.17.2.3.2. Affected faculty members
shall have the right to appeal (in writing) such reassignment. Such appeal must be delivered to the Vice
Chancellor of Human Resources within fifteen (15) days of the original
notice of reassignment. The Vice
Chancellor of Human Resources will review the circumstances of the
reassignment and determine whether to sustain the appeal or not. The faculty member will have the right to
appeal the decision of the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources to the
Chancellor for a final decision. Such
appeal must be delivered to the Chancellor within fifteen (15) days of
written notification of the Vice Chancellor’s decision.
The Chancellor will advise the affected College
President(s) and the Governing Board of his/her decision. |

Chancellor for a final decision. Such
appeal must be delivered to the Chancellor within fifteen (15) days of
written notification of the Vice Chancellor’s decision.
The Chancellor will advise the affected
faculty member, the affected College President(s) and the
Governing Board of his/her decision regarding
the transfer appeal within 30 days of the receipt of the appeal. In the event the reassignment location has not
been finalized, an update will be provided in writing every thirty (30)
days. |
Rationale:
The
reassignment of faculty on an involuntary basis may require extensive
review,
conversations and meetings with appropriate parties, which the Vice
Chancellor
of Human Resources or the Chancellor may not be able to accomplish
within a 15
day time period.
