Council members reported discussions with different campus faculty developers regarding the planning and agenda for the All Faculty Convocation.  Council's concerns were relayed to the faculty development staff who would report those concerns to the whole committee.  One suggestion made was to have Council work with the Faculty Development Committee to plan future All Faculty Convocations.  Council heard some history where it was thought that inviting new administrators to speak at the convocation was a good idea.  However, that idea was taken further where administrators were planning what has been and should be an all faculty event for the faculty and planned by the faculty.  Council discussed MCLI's support role in planning for the All Faculty Convocation and the concern that MCLI staff answer to administration that can dictate an agenda for the All Faculty Convocation.  It was suggested that Council set an agenda to present to the faculty developers and MCLI.  Council was reminded that this issue could be discussed when MCLI visits at the next meeting.
