Council received copies of the recommendation of last year's Whistleblower Protection Subcommittee.  Alan Haffa reminded Council that AZ AAUP had submitted whistleblower legislation to the Arizona State Legislature last year.  Council had agreed at that time to work with the District Administration to revise and strengthen the Whistleblower Protection policies of the District.  Alan Haffa informed Council that the subcommittee had met with Mike Napier who gave some suggestions to change the policy language.  Alan Haffa asked that council approve the recommendation and allow a new subcommittee to proceed to work with District staff on revising the District's policy.  Council reviewed and discussed the recommendation and exactly whom the subcommittee would work with on the revisions.  A motion was made and seconded for Council to form a subcommittee to explore the reformation of whistleblower protection policy with the appropriate District committee and execute revision of that policy.  A vote was taken, and the motion passed with one abstention.  Alan Haffa will chair the new subcommittee.
