Council received copies of suggestions of improving communications from the Communications Subcommittee. Hazel Davis reviewed the suggestions. The subcommittee had identified Council committees, District committees with faculty representatives, and District processes of faculty interest. It was suggested that those serving on the committees or involved with the processes report regularly to Council. Another suggestion was for the Faculty Association President to write highlights of each Council meeting to be sent to all faculty along with the full minutes. A third suggestion asked that the Faculty Association secretary regularly update the Faculty Association's website and remind faculty of the URL for that website. A fourth suggestion made was to establish a permanent subcommittee to identify topics of interest and questions as well as compose invitations to Board and CEC members to visit with Council. Another suggestion was to invite the Chancellor to Council meetings on a monthly basis. The last suggestion was to host a Council-CEC retreat at the beginning of the academic year.
