CGCC On Friday, April 11, 2003, CGCC will hold the grand opening of the new baseball field, the Performing Arts Center and the new Student Center.
EMCC All is well.
GCC GCC will host the Fourth Annual April Pools Day, part of an education program to prevent children's drowning, on Thursday, April 10. A Career Day was held on Wednesday, April 2, and an Adjunct Fair on Thursday April 3.
GWCC GWCC hosted a breakfast with a legislator. GWCC's Job Fair is being held today, April 8th. The Spring Fling is Wednesday, April 9, 2003.
MCC The Faculty Senate at MCC will be hosting the annual all faculty party on Friday April 11, 2003. The Veterans Rose Garden is near completion. MCC is working with the City of Mesa to build a bus pull-off stop by the rose garden.
PC PC held a community forum in which 100 community members attended. Discussion was held between the community and faculty on PC's strategic plan. PC's College President is being honored by her alma mater as an outstanding alumnus.
Council briefly discussed the plans for the bond money and salary raises for faculty.

RIO Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, with 1200 chapters, held its international convention on April 2-6, 2003. RIO's chapter won 2 of 4 Top Ten Hallmark Awards in Fellowship and Service. RIO's chapter also won a Distinguished Chapter Award given to the top 25 chapters. Phi Theta Kappa member Chris Burton was named the All-AZ Academic Team New Century Scholar for having the highest scoring application in the state. He also made the All-USA Academic First Team, recognized as a Top 20 student in the nation.
