Highlights:

Guest: Dr. Fred Gaskin visited with Council on faculty concerns, the bond election and salary/benefits.

Council reviewed a recommendation on short and long term goals on faculty issues/strategies for FEC and formed several subcommittees to work on those goals.

Council asked Rosemary Kesler to read a statement to the Governing Board requesting that the Employee Safety Survey not be used to make decisions on campus safety.

Council discussed the recently added hiring responsibilities of campus Division Chairs and the lack of additional compensation for those responsibilities.

Council passed a motion requesting that MCLI (Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction) and FIPP (Faculty In Progress Program) be the first District programs to undergo review.

A Leadership Meeting on the bond election will be held on January 16th at the District Office.

Council expressed concerns regarding a proposed Bioindustry Workforce Development Commission and its membership.

Council received copies of the Chancellor's executive duties and responsibilities. 

Council was asked for topics for articles in the February 2003 issue of Peerpoint.

Council discussed the possible elimination of student parking decals on one campus.

The interpretation of the RFP section regarding compensation for Occupational Program Directors was discussed.

Committee reports were presented for the following committees: Meet and Confer, Professional Growth, Employee Benefits Advisory Committee (EBAC), Legislative, and Insurance.

The College Faculty Senate Presidents gave their campus reports.
