Jamie Moore reported that the Faculty Meet and Confer Team had met with the Board's team on October 11, 2004.  The Faculty Team presented ground rules, the proposal matrix, and four proposals.  Jamie said that the ground rules were TA'd, the Board Team stated it had four-five items to bring forward, and that the next meeting would focus on the rights' sections in the matrix.

Jamie presented two proposals for Council's approval.  The first proposal was for changes in Section 2.11.2.  Council discussed the ramifications of proposed changes.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the proposal.  A vote was taken, and the motion carried with two nay votes and three abstentions.  The next proposal was for changes in Section 3.12.  Council discussed the ramifications of the proposed changes.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the proposal.  Council was reminded that language had been brought to Council in the late spring regarding probationary faculty.  It was suggested that a subcommittee be formed to work on all pieces of this issue.  There was a call for the question.  A vote was taken on the motion to approve the Section 3.12. proposal, and the motion was defeated.
