Jeff Ricker informed Council that a forum between the two District 2 Governing Board candidates would be held on October 18^th at 2:00 pm in the Turquoise Room at SCC.  Brent Alvar suggested that another forum be held in the East Valley for another opportunity to learn about the candidates.  He asked that Council host another forum.  It was suggested that Janet Regner be asked to help.  Janet, who was visiting, agreed to help.  The point was made that Council had to move quickly as the election was only weeks away.  John Seims and Brent Alvar also volunteered.  Asked about the forum format at SCC, Jeff Ricker responded that each candidate would give a presentation for 15 minutes and then the floor would be opened for a question and answer session.  It was noted that a town hall format was a good format to get to know the candidates.  A motion was made and seconded to put $500 towards each forum for community awareness purposes.  A vote was taken, and the motion passed unanimously.
