MCC
MCC is proceeding with the hiring process for the Vice President of Academic Affairs.   The anticipated start date will be July 1. The Faculty Senate is seeking clarification on the status of the China Online Project.   With increased costs and far too many projects that demand attention, the faculty are working with the President to revise the Master Plan and the corresponding priority list so that bond money can be used most effectively.  A request has been made by President Pan for all faculty to participate in a SWOT analysis of MCC.  The Senate is continuing to hold discussions on the effectiveness of the Assistant Department Chair program at the Red Mountain campus.   With many questions on the table, the Senate is asking all MCC faculty to participate in the effort to resolve the issues.  The topic of offering COL101 has come up at MCC.

PVCC
President Kickels announced her resignation effective August 1, 2008.  PVCC will begin the search for a new college president as well as searches for a Vice President of Academic Affairs and a Vice President of Administrative Services.

RIO won the Maricopa Community College's Innovation of the Year 2007-2008 award for its Textbook Savings Program in conjunction with Pearson Publishing Company.
