Council reviewed a summary of the three consultants' contract terms and costs.  Council discussed earlier setting up a Legal Defense Fund and if done, the amount for Mike Napier may need to be adjusted which could be done by amending the budget as needed.  A point was made that a subcontract would need to be drawn for extra services form Mike Napier.  Reyes made the point that the Legal Defense Fund would probably not make a dent in attorney fees but it would send a message to the faculty that the Faculty Association is behind them and supporting them.  Another point was made that Council needs to determine how the Legal Defense Funds would be accessed.  A suggestion was made to investigate obtaining insurance to cover legal expenses.  Council next discussed the services provided by Husk Partners, Inc. over the past year and what expectations Council would want for next year, such as regular reports at FEC meetings when the Legislature is in session and monthly reports when the Legislature is not in session.  Council discussed the need for an active legislative representative and legislative committee.  Council discussed the increase in fees for Husk Partners over the past two years.  Council needs to communicate expectations to all three consultants.  Council was asked if a vote could take place on the contracts for Mike Napier and PRFECT Media as they were the same terms and costs.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the 2008-2009 Contract Proposals of Mike Napier and PRFECT Media.  A vote was taken, and the motion passed unanimously.  Council will ask Husk Partners to justify their increase and wait to vote on that contract until after Husk Partners replies.
