Jim Reed reported that his college president had stated that hiring committees had to have seven people, no more and no less, that two people serving had to be outside the department with the open position, and one person serving had to be an administrator. Jim asked other Council members about their hiring committees' size and composition. Discussion ensued. Council learned that there were no set rules for the size and makeup of hiring committees. One Council member from another college reported that the hiring committees at that college needed to have one administrator serve on each hiring committee.
