Barry Vaughan reported that the IT Audit was moving forward.  Barry stated that the Chancellor was unhappy that Blackboard failed again during finals week and therefore, is moving forward with outsourcing Blackboard pending the Governing Board's approval.  Council discussed those faculty who use Blackboard.  Barry was asked to communicate with all faculty and encourage them to archive their Blackboard files on their hard drives so that nothing is lost when transitioning Blackboard to an outside vendor.  A point was made that the message should come from Darrel Huish and if there are any issues with the message that some faculty would "call" Darrel on it.  Barry said that he would still send a "heads up" message to all faculty.
